Lam's statement of environmental principles

Lam is committed to quality and environmental health and safety (EH&S). It is our intent to be recognized by our customers, employees, and the community as a responsible corporate citizen that is committed to continual improvement in environmental protection, pollution prevention, and regulatory compliance in all our business activities.

Lam was one of the first organizations in the semiconductor industry to be ISO 9001:2000 (quality management systems) and ISO 14001 (environmental management systems) registered. Under Lam's Quality and EH&S Department, all facilities worldwide comply with these ISO standards.

Lam also requires that its outsource providers adhere to the Company's quality and EH&S standards. Outsource providers must sign service—level agreements requiring them to meet requirements for cost, quality, delivery, and technology.

Lam's aggressive safety program has resulted in one of the lowest injury rates industry—wide. Employee safety is always given the highest priority over any other issue.

Lam is also an executive member of the steering committee for the SEMI® Global Care™ initiative. This industry—wide initiative establishes a framework for SEMI's diverse membership to strengthen commitments to EH&S issues.
